The University is currently in the process of creating a comprehensive database for future financial assistance programs. In order to better understand the financial needs of our student body and to tailor our support services more effectively, we are requesting students parental annual income details from those who did not submit the same at the registration.

Your cooperation in providing accurate and timely information is crucial to the success of this initiative. The collected data will be treated with the utmost confidentiality and will only be used for the purpose of assessing eligibility for financial assistance programs. Rest assured that this information will be handled in compliance with all relevant privacy laws and regulations.

To submit your parental annual income details, please fill out all the fields in this google form on or before 05.08.2024.

This is an introductory course in statistics designed to provide students with the basic concepts of data analysis and statistical computing. The course also provide a strong statistical base for students to carry out technical analysis in subsequent years in the discipline of Demography. The course covers introduction to statistics, sampling and measurements, descriptive statistics, probability distributions and fundamentals on statistical inferences.

This course focuses on the evolution of population theories and provides a sound knowledge on theories related to mortality, fertility and migration. The course guides the student to analyze different views that have emerged with regard to these theories, and critically evaluate their relevance for analyzing population dynamics and related issues in different contexts.

In addition, this course will focus on trends and patterns of population ageing in developed and developing countries. Furthermore, it provides skills in data and measures related to population ageing, policies and programmes to analyses and evaluate issues related to older persons in different contexts.

Regional Organizations emerged in order to enhance regional security at the initial stage. In the 20th Century, state actors began focusing on regional integration for socio-cultural, economic and most significantly, security reasons.

Initially focusing on theories of regionalism, this course unit subsequently introduces students to a number of regional organizations. It examines the workings of these organizations, with special emphasis on functions of powers invested in these Organizations. The course also explores the strengths and weaknesses of each of these organizations and concerns in the 21st century.

This is a compulsory course for students following the 4-year Honours Degree Programme in Economics.

The course unit is designed to impart knowledge on macroeconomic models and to develop skills for the application of those models to analyze complex macroeconomic issues. The students who choose to study Macroeconomics are expected to have a basic knowledge on national accounting, output market, money market and foreign exchange market as studied in ECN1202.
